July: Top Attention-Grabbing Shows for Broadcast and Cable

Game Shows and Reality Capture Mid-Summer Attention

As our east coast offices sweat out the summer, TV viewers are paying attention to contestants sweating it out on game and reality shows like "Big Brother", "Penn & Teller: Fool Us", and "The Gong Show". After June's summer premieres, July's top programs highlight what's separating from the pack.

Highlights:

  • Game shows and other competition-based programs dominated the broadcast list, led by The Gong Show, Penn & Teller: Fool Us, and CBS's hit Big Brother.
  • Viewers were dreaming big in July. BRAVO's Million Dollar Listing New York was the most attention-grabbing primetime cable program.
  • NBC's Running Wild with Bear Grylls continues to deliver a highly attentive audience. The program snagged the #1 spot for broadcast programs in July, and was previously the #1 broadcast show of Q2 2017.
