While you were eating chicken wings, drinking beer, and cheering on your team, we were doing what we do best: measuring attention on television. We looked at every second of commercial and game time, and analyzed which ads captured the most attention, generated the most smiles, and were best helped by celebrity endorsements.

  • Women paid more attention than men to the halftime show (+23%), commercial pods (+26%), and game time (+27%)
  • Bud Lights "Bud Knight" garnered the highest Smile and Attention Indices of all commercials in the big game
  • JT's performance drew more attention than 2017's Lady Gaga, but couldn't match the standout performance by Beyonce, Coldplay, and Bruno Mars in 2016
