The list is created by the LA Post, an independent newspaper serving Chinese Americans, All America Chinese Youth Federation, and the American Chinese Public Diplomacy Association. Yan was recognized for leading TVision as we innovate the way advertising and TV is bought and sold. The recognition is an important part of  the celebration of Chinese communities during the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month each year.
