The month of July featured one of television’s biggest and most anticipated viewing events - the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. This was billed as the first “streaming Olympics” with viewers tuning in on Peacock and NBC’s traditional broadcast channels.

And while significant attention was paid to both the ads and the athletes in the Games, other television programming and advertising made waves as well, such as Ted Lasso, and Johnny Test on CTV. On broadcast and cable traditional summer programming kept viewers engaged, including reality TV competition programs like perennial favorite The Bachelorette on ABC.

TVision’s monthly reports focus on the performance of episodic television on broadcast, cable, and CTV. We also cover the top brands and ads. Here are the gold medal finishers and top performers across TV, CTV, and brands for 2021.
