While Netflix continues to dominate our monthly Share of Time Spent list, which provides a snapshot into the programs viewers are spending the most time watching, other apps are making gains. In fact, Amazon's "The Terminal List" captured six percent of time spent viewing in July 2022, and Amazon placed two shows on our Binge Watch list - "The Lake" and "The Legend of Vox Machina." It's not too surprising that two seasons (4 and 3) of Stranger Things on Netflix made the list as the program is a sensation. Our metric "Share of Time Spent" measures the time the total audience spends with a program as a percent of all viewing of original episodic CTV content for the time period.
|Program||Application||Share of Time Spent|
|Stranger Things (4)||Netflix||15%|
|The Terminal List||Amazon||6%|
|Stranger Things (3)||Netflix||4%|
|The Umbrella Academy||Netflix||3%|
|The Lincoln Lawyer||Netflix||3%|
Our Attention Index identifies how viewers paid attention to programming compared to the average show. Hulu's "The Dropout" prevents a Netflix sweep of the list of July's Top CTV shows for Attention. As a point of reference, the average linear TV program scores a 100 on the Index. CTV programming typically indexes higher than linear, and the shows that make our Top Five each month really stand out.
|Gracie and Frankie||Netflix||169.1|
These are the shows that viewers watched together in July 2022. Our Co-Viewing Rate measures the percent of time viewers watched the program with more than one person in the room. TVision's person-level insights enable measurement of CTV co-viewing and can provide brands and apps with accurate co-viewing multiples.
